I’m trying to assign F2 as keyboard shortcut to Italics. According to the customize keyboard dialogue window, this has sucessfully been implemented. I’ve clicked on modify, at the italics command both F2 an CTRL+I are listed as keyboard shortcuts. But whenever I press F2, the “edit formula” function (the default) is activated. Is there a remedy for this?
For me via menu Tools>Customise:
I have entered “Italic” under “Functions”.
For keys it is displayed:
Ctrl+I
Ctrl+Shift+K
Clicked on the “Modify” button at the top.
At F2 “Italic” is displayed.
Click OK.
Select text.
Press F2 and the text is displayed in italics.
Thanks. Suddenly, here it does work now as well. I don’t understand why it didn’t work immediately, but there it is. Restarting may have something to do with it – but I think I had restarted before I asked the question and it still didn’t work. Oh well.
