how get automatic changes to bak document when making changes to odt document?
Hello,
as per Help and my understanding of this a change is not a trigger to a new .bak file. You need to perform a save. Here is what the Help states:
If the Always create backup copy option is selected, the old version of the file is saved to the backup directory whenever you save the current version of the file.
Thank you for your response. Per Help, it appears with backup on, when you save the current (revised) version, the old version is the backup. How can you make the current version the backup as well? Thank you.
Have you tried saving twice?
Hello,
If you want changes to be saved as you proceed, you will need to install an extension or macros to handle the process.
LO extensions are found here → Extensions.
Another link is found here as the first comment by @robleyd → How to Make Backup and Autorecovery Work Correctly?.
You can also install macros to do this. See my comment in the previous post and/or my answer in this post → Why are my LibreOffice doc backups no longer working?
Thank you again. I have added an extension and will give it a try.
Time Stamp Backup (an LO extension) did the trick. Thanks again for the suggestion.
