when trying to make anything (tables, query, form or report) using the assistant nothing happens when I click on the line make a form (or whatever) with the assistant (NB my LO is in Dutch so the exact English wording might be slightly different).
Using the option “design manually” works, however.

Do you have the proper Java installed & options set? Wizards will not work without Java installed.
