Hi, I wonder where I’m going wrong with editing a query in Base. It all seems to work OK with entries on the row labelled “Criterion” and also when I add a second line in the top of the rows labelled “or”. However, entries in the second row labelled “or” are ignored. If I swap over the values between the two rows labelled “or” it is always only the upper of the two that get acted upon when running the query. It behaves as if one can only use a single “or” in creating a query but I assume that is not the case otherwise I guess only one row labelled “or” would be shown. Thanks for any help.

I am wondering how anyone can do any verifications or sightings based on your statements. Can you help better understand how your database is built, how exactly the query fields are defined.
It might help to have a reduced and anonymized database, where the problem is apparent, that you upload here. What do you think?
Thanks for the response. I tried to keep initial question concise in case there was an obvious explanation. The data base is for pieces of metal. I could prepare an abbreviated version to upload but initially easiest thing may be to show the screen display of the query design. Hopefully this will be uploaded with this message.

Third line I read ‘steel - mild’, not ‘Steel - mild’. So the query won’t find a value for the “Material type” in “Table of pieces”. Or do you have “Material type” written in different ways in the table “Material types table”?
Better solution: “Shape table” and “Material types table” were asked for the primary key.
Thanks yes I’m sure I’ve made that typo before and corrected it and still had the problem. But I’ve just corrected it again and now the query does work on all 3 lines. So hopefully it was just that. Sorry to have bothered you with such a trivial error. (I lack confidence in how I am using the application).
Thanks, Mike
