I have a few users on libre office 4.2 and for a year or so it’s been pretty smooth. They are light duty users and as far as I know have had only a few issues with converting formats etc.
It does prompt for the update to 5.1. I haven’t pulled the trigger on that because while I’m sure 5.1 is at least as good as 4.2, I don’t know what kind of UI experience alterations come with it. I know these users want as little disturbance from what they’re used to.
But it is important to have a secure version. Is there a simple way to update to the most current version of 4.x, or is it simply the wise thing to do to follow along with the current version?
All of the users are on Windows 7 pro.
