Bold/Italic text on Chart Title / XY Axis

I am following along in my cegep mechanics class with LibreOffice as he teaches everyone to use excel, and so far everything is going very well.

Except one thing, I made a chart and my professor expects the X and Y labels to be bold and italicized. But when editing the text, ctrl+b and ctrl+i do nothing. Is this functionality possible? File attached.

Using version 25.2.3.2 from debian.

Edit the chart, double-click on the axis go to ‘Font’ tab, select what you like.

  1. Right click on the chart and select Edit
  2. Right click on the X-Axis Title and select Format title
  3. In the Font tab, in Style select Bold Italic. OK
  4. Repeat for Y-Axis

Thank you both!

For the record since I wasn’t clear enough in my description:
I needed only a specific part of the text to be bold, so I
selected that part > right click > Character …
otherwise same steps.
