CALC cells are not highlighted after having selected by cursor

Hello
I run Calc under Linux:

Version: 26.2.6.3 (X86_64)
Build ID: 620(Build:3)
CPU threads: 12; OS: Linux 7.2; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: de-DE (en_CA.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

It often happens that a cell is not highlighted after I selected it by cursor. Only the row and the column title is highlighted and the name box in the upper left corner displays the cell coordinates, but the cell itself remains not highlighted. So its hard to see if I put the cursor into the correct cell or to have a good overview in case I select several cells at the same times.

In my example cell C6 looks exactly like all the other cells.
Any idea why CALC acts this way?

Thank you in advance

GTK does not support LibreOffice or vice versa.
Try starting the office suite like this: SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen libreoffice.

It looks as if LibreOffice is in high contrast mode. Click Tools - Options - LibreOffice - Accessibility and set High Contrast to Disabled

Check these options:

In Tools / Options / LibreOffice / Appearance, under Customization: Focus Cell, choose the color.

In Tools / Options / LibreOffice Calc / under Display, check [v] Highlight column/row. This highlight will be in a lighter shade than the Focus Cell.

Additional information: my described problem only occurs when I attach an external monitor to my notebook. As long as I use the notebook without external monitor I have no problem with the cell’s view.

Anyway: Thank you for the hints regarding the options. I tested with all of them and the view gets better, even with both notebook display and external monitor in use. But I am still interested in Villeroy’s hint: where do I have the set your recommended start option ‘SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen libreoffice.’ ?

Open a terminal and paste
SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen libreoffice
if libreoffice is the right command starting LibreOffice.

I tested both: starting via SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen libreoffice and using Calc with modified options. My peronal solution is to proceed with the new options.

Thank you all for your help and support
