Hi folks,
I’m running LO calc 7.6.5.2 on Linux Mint 21.3 Virginia with Kernel 5.15.0-101-generic x86_64 bits
The following demonstrates the problem I’m having
Using the test spreadsheet via Comments in Calc - The Document Foundation Wiki
Work files “Comments_in_Calc.ods”
cells F4 thru F7 contain comments, cells F14 thru F17 and F24 thru F27 do not
if I copy cells F4 thru F7 and paste them into F14 thru F17 then the comments are copied too
if I then copy blank cells F24 thru F27 and paste them into F14 thru F17 then the comments remain
the comments remain even if I ‘Paste Special’ and select the ‘Comments’ option
the only way to remove them is by selecting cells F14 thru F17 and ‘Delete Comments’
By contrast, sorting the cells causes the comment (or lack of comment) to move with the cell
e.g. delete comments from F14 and F17, then sort F14 thru F17 ascending / descending
As the comments in my spreadsheet are specific to the content of the parent cells how do I get the comments to move with the cell?
Regards,
Jiohn
certainly a nice try, BUT …
between the ifs and contrast, not sure anymore what moves what doesn’t, and how the title of your post reflects your question
a simplified reformulation may get you more attention and help from calc gurus – maybe even @Hrbrgr who wrote the wiki page
