I made a hyperlink in my spredsheet to an e-mail I have saved on my desktop. All fine, but the first time I followed the link I was asked which program I wanted to open the target file. I chose “MAIL” and should have chosen Thunderbird which is the mail program I am using. Now, I can not find out how to change that. I have tried to delete the hyperlink and create it again, but the question of which program to use does not come up again, and “MAIL” is always used. In the Edit Hyperlink Box there is nowhere to edit this. I must have chosen the “MAIL” program as the default program to open saved mail. Anyone who knows how to change this?
This question is not related to LibreOffice, but to your operating system, which you don’t mention. It is the operating system knowing (and defining) which application to be used to open files of a specific type (i.e. extension).
Generally speaking:
- Open your file manager
- Move to the directory where your attachment is stored
- Right click on the filename and select
Open With...(or similar term depending on the operating system) - Select the proper application
- Check option
[x] Always use this application(or similar term depending on the operating system)
