Calc in Windows 11 [insert chart fails]

LO Version: 7.4.3.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community

Calc: CL
on Windows 11

Calc insert graph worked well on Windows 10 but does not work at all on Windows 11. Is there an upgrade to LO for Windows 11?

There is a newer version of the LO, but that is not especially for the win11: LO 7.4.4.2
The LO 7.4.x.y are the Fresh versions. Better to use the Still versions for the daily work: LO 7.3.x.y

Thanks. I’ll try 7.4.4.2

No improvement unfortunately.

Try to modify the graphic settings in the LO and in your op. system (for example: try to switch off the Skia option in LO, restart, and check if there is any positive result…)

Insert chart should work, there might be something wrong in your installation/setup.

When you click Insert > Chart do you get an empty chart?
That would indicate the selection is text only, test with View > Value highlighting, blue is numbers and dates, black is text.

If you hover over the toolbar icon do you see tooltip Insert Chart?

Does insert chart work in Safe Mode? Click Help > Restart in Safe Mode > Continue in Safe Mode. If it does, then consider renaming your user folder, see LibreOffice user profile - The Document Foundation Wiki

Thanks for your suggestions. LO is on a new machine replacing my zapped Windows 10 machine and when I powered on this morning Windows did some updating. Not sure what changed but I now seem to be able to insert graphs without any issues.

I tried to thank you as well for your suggestions bu LO bounced my reply with this admonition:

We’re sorry, but your email message to [“reply+69c4a81cbe290e587a9995904b7da605@ask.libreoffice.org”] (titled RE: [Ask LibreOffice] [English] Calc in Windows 11) didn’t work.

Reason:

Body is too similar to what you recently posted

If you can correct the problem, please try again.

I find that if Windows shows it has updates it needs to finish installing (circle with orange spots on right of Windows Taskbar) it is best to close everything immediately and allow it to install. Weird stuff can happen if you continue working so even if what I am working on is urgent it is quicker to complete the installation and reboot than to continue and lose work.

Yes, good advice generally, however I’ve learned to be hesitant about Windows updates. On my previous machine I had to uninstall certain update components in order to continue to be able to access a network printer here. I had to resort to a utility that ran before a scheduled Windows update that would block certain parts of the update in order to allow me to cotinue to use that printer. I have the current machine updates paused for the max number of days to allow myself time to become aware of any issues it may cause. It’s been my experience that Microsoft has occassionally trod with hobnailed boots over other software.
