Calc link to sheet

I have a yearly calendar, with additional sheets for each month.
The date cells are in date “D” format.
The ‘empty’ cells at beginning and end of the month are blank, but when I link from individual month to yearly sheet the blank cells show as “30”, even when I clear the blank cells (with the "delete"key)
I can clear these cells by clearing them in the month sheet.
Why is this?

Cell format “D”: 30

There is a much better way to do this - by using time and date formula, but it is too involved for anyone at my level.

@deniscampbell ,

Thank you, but what was the problem in the original?

That’s a nice, clean perpetual calendar. I’m not so sure there is “a much better way” if in fact everything works. If the file is your own creation, when you get everything working and tested you should definitely upload it to the LibreOffice Extensions site.

You might remove reference to the year from the sheet names and just use numbers for your weekday names row then format them as NNNN so that the locale weekday name will autopopulate.

That’s very good, thanks. That’s what I meant by a better way!

That’s a good idea Joshua, though there is a problem that the Irish language format doesn’t give quite the right format, even using user-defined.

You can take a look at a few changes I’ve uploaded here.

I set up the first sheet with some Named Ranges and set the print area so they would not print. Then I set up Ean (as an example) to reflect lookup entries from Laethanta and Mionna. Irish probably isn’t the only language where de vs an -like issues come up, so a lookup page the user can edit might be even better than relying on NNNN and MMMM for some languages.

Iontach agus aisteach! Tá Gaeilge agat… nó tá Google Translate ort!!
This is very helpful, thanks. I’m working my way through it. Lookup pages seem the way to go.

Unfortunately I’ve lost any little Gaelic I learned in school…or hanging out with a college buddy, Rónán, in Berlin :slightly_frowning_face:. Please post if you solidify on a ‘final product.’

I have to confess I completed it mostly by copying and pasting formulae and arrays, but I’ve learnt quite a lot. Go raibh maith agat! The attached is the final result, I hope. It needs an Irish font to be installed for it to look right, there are many available for free.
