Calc - Multiple Lines in Cell not working

I am working on a spreadsheet where some cells have more text than a single line’s worth. I have used the text wrap tool in the toolbar, and I have checked off Wrap Text Automatically in the Format → Cells menu. I have also tried manually adding a line break using ctrl+enter inside the offending cells. What I find odd is that it’s not a cell height issue - even when I make the cells very tall, the text still only occupies one line. When I have text wrapping checked, it simply disappears after hitting the right border. When I don’t have it checked, it overlaps the following cells. The only way to make all the text visible is extending the length of the cell.

If it makes a difference, I’m using version 7.6.4.1 on Windows 11.

I would be inclined to

  1. Check if it happens in a new spreadsheet, if it does
  2. Close LibreOffice
  3. Go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features, right click LibreOffice and select Repair
  4. Restart (not Shut Down) Windows
  5. Check if issue remains, if it does then consider renaming your User Profile, LibreOffice user profile - The Document Foundation Wiki . But save the old profile so you can copy back useful folders as listed in the same page.

Try to delete the direct formatting (Ctrl+M).
You can share a reduced sample file to test. Edit your question to upload there. Thanks.
The file was created from scratch in LibreOffice? It’s saved as .ods?
