CALC: New style created via cell context menu -> edit styles do not show up in the list

Using Version: 24.2.7.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 420(Build:2) on Linux Mint

I’m trying to add a new cell style in Calc. For this, I right click on a cell to sow the context menu. Then I select “Styles” → “Edit Style…”. On the “Status” list item, I right click and select “New…”. I set the values I want (strike through → Font Effects → Strikethrough) and save. The new style apears in the list of cell styles.

However, this new style is not shown in the list when I now right click on a cell, the select “Styles”. I alsop recognize that the styles “Heading → Result”, and “Text → Hyperlink” are not show in the context menu, despite them being shown in the style editor list.

What decides if a cell style is or is not shown in the cell context menu “Styles” list?

Only predefined styles appear in the styles context menu (right-click on a cell).
If you want your style to appear in that menu, you must customize the context menus in
Tools > Customize

Thanks. I managed to change the context menu to show my custom cell styles. And the entries survive a restart of Calc. However, the styles themselves are lost when I close Calc. How can I make my custom styles permanent ones?

You’ll need to add them to your default template so they are available on any new spreadsheet.

As @robleyd said, the style must be added to the default template. (You can change the Default Calc template)
