I like dates on my spreadsheets in the format D MMM YY, e.g. 25 Mar 79. At the moment I have to manually reformat every date entered or imported. Is there a way to make Calc do this for me?
(In the Calc/Tools/Options/LO Calc/Calculate Date options there are only 3 numeric options, none my prefered option. If a future update included a user setting option would this be a solution?)
No, you have do it all by yourself, preferably by means of templates and styles.
For obvious reasons: Never use dates with a year-part of only 2 digits.
Very clever people standardised YYYY-MM-DD as the date format globally understandable and unambiguos (till 9999-12-31).
The mentioned standard is ISO 8601.
