Calc - Regular expression to find and replace anything in parentheses

Hello. I hope you are reading this in good health.

I have a spreadsheet in which states are named and the postal abbreviation is given. The state name and the postal abbreviation are in the same cell. Like this:

Alabama (AL)
Ohio (OH)

Can you give me a regular expression I can use in find-replace to find the parentheses as well as anything inside the parentheses and replace those characters with nothing?

search for \(.*?\) and replace with semantically nothing.
