Calc>Writer: Any workaround for failure of copy-paste of autofiltered range?

In Calc, I start with this:

Now autofilter:

Now select and copy:

Now paste to Writer:

Three bogus rows.

Any workaround? Short of switching to MS Word:

If you don’t mind formatting loss:

Yes, interesting.
Even the editor in Thunderbird pastes the copied filtered range, taking the filter into account.
The bug should be reported to Bugzilla.

Verified:

And that’s a workaround. Copy from TB to Writer:

Crazy but true. Thanks.

It seems to me a bug in Calc, where one of the few different formats going to clipboard has the extra rows.

Since the days before LibreOffice, the workaround has been to paste to another sheet and then copy those results to the outside program. Same with copying just selected columns.

If there is a merged cell:

the merge (and column width) is lost:

The workaround then would be Edit > Paste special > Paste Special > LibreOffice x.x Spreadsheet to embed the original sheet into the page

LibreOffice extensions: Copy only visible cells

Thanks but its command is failing to show for me:

Version: 25.2.5.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 03d19516eb2e1dd5d4ccd751a0d6f35f35e08022
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 X86_64 (6.1 build 7601); UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: en-GB (en_GB); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

The extension creates a Toolbar, ‘Copy only visible cells’ with an Icon to copy only visible cells.

Thanks. Then guess the page you linked’s pic showing a new menu command must be in error.

Here, the toolbar button results has the same fail as regular Copy. Does it work for you?

That extension was useful earlier in LibreOffice history but was last updated 6 years ago. In the interim, Calc has acquired the functionality; the most recent fix might have tdf#45958

PS Upon removing that extension I got:

Restart showed the extension still present. Repeating “Remove” gave:

(a bug I guess) and Restart Now did remove the extension.

That command “Only Copy Visible Cells” is not found in this recent version. The reference to Help lands on Only Copy Visible Cells “Only Copy Visible Cells” (not a command name ISTM) but its:

Copy, delete, move, or format a selection of currently visible cells.

Only the visible cells of the selection are copied, deleted, moved, or formatted.

indicates this functionality is supposed to now be in Copy.

I suspect that’s in error, because the fix 45958 – Only Copy Visible Cells (after a filter) doesn't work when only unfiltered columns are selected was to Calc Paste, so no surprise that I find the problem exists in recent Calc Copy and Writer Paste.
