Calibri sometimes doesn't render on opening a document

I’ve seen one other English thread relating to this, of sometimes when I open an Office document, Calibri font doesn’t render.
I’ve actively seen it in Calc and Writer.
It’s USUALLY fixed by closing all windows and reopening the document. It’s sometimes fixed by me changing the font then changing it back - though sometimes it will remain when changing back to it. Rarely I need to restart the whole computer to fix it.
It was common enough in one calc document that I just changed the font to Bahnschrift because I needed the document to work every time.
I’m running
Version: 25.8.2.2 (X86_64)
Build ID: d401f2107ccab8f924a8e2df40f573aab7605b6f
CPU threads: 16; OS: Windows 11 X86_64 (build 22631); UI render: default; VCL: win
Locale: en-NZ (en_NZ); UI: en-GB
Calc: CL threaded
on a windows 11 computer with the TTF of calibri light installed as a base file

It’s set to 12pt Calibri as a default, which I know I can change.

I’m not sure if I should try and create a bug report since it happens seemingly at random, then will take different fixes depending on the day.

Try Skia in the menu Tools > Options > LibreOffice > View

^.^ I have turned this on, will update if there’s another incident now

I don’t recall any issue with Calibri font but there was one with Bahnschrift back in version 5 or 6 until there were improvements in rendering variable fonts. This makes me wonder if your Calibri font is either damaged or maybe you have two copies of it installed. I would be inclined to download the latest version, remove all installed Calibri fonts and install the new version.

Good to check, just because otherwise it’ll be a system-wide check, does Libre install any fonts when installing, and would they be anywhere other than the fonts folder of windows (C:\Windows\fonts\Calibri is where the one systems is seeing)

Yes, but not Calibre.

Calibri Light is not Calibri, make sure you have installed Calibri as well.

LibreOffice will only install in the Fonts folder. Note if you name any folder anywhere as Fonts then that too will become a system folder, potentially causing issues for fonts.

It looks like it simply defaults to “light” when looking it up, but the basic “Calibri” is also there, just as a subset of the calibri options. As you can see though from the screenshot it looks for the “calibri.tff” vs the light one which looks for “calibriL.tff” - the data is all stored in the same “dump” as far as windows is concerned though.
