It’s for homework. We have to make a presentation about something, but I don’t have PowerPoint, so can a LibreOffice presentation open with PowerPoint?

Versions of MS PowerPoint from 2010 onward can open presentations saved in the .odp (open document format for presentations) which is the default for LO Impress. If you are not sure what version of PowerPoint is being used then you can save the Impress presentation in MS PowerPoint format. As with any programs there will not be full compatibility so not everything will work as expected.
