Can I create multiple certificates in Libre Draw using mail merge with ID pictures?

Hello Libre-Community,

I want to change from Microsoft Office to Libre Office. In MS Office I could prepare a database in Excel with fields that I wanted to include in the certificates, e.g. First Name, Last Name and also one column with links to the path location of pictures. In MS Publisher I could then create one template and include the merge fields to First Name, Last Name and Picture. So each student would receive a personalized certificate with his correct name and his passport picture on it. I used the same to create ID cards for students.

I have installed version 7.3.3.2.

Is this also possible using libre draw? If yes, then how?

Thank you very much!

Draw is a drawing program and you can create your certificate in that and then copy it to Writer and set as background. You can then add the Mail Merge fields in front of the image.

There is a chapter on mail merge in The Writer Guide (download from English documentation | LibreOffice Documentation - LibreOffice User Guides). One thing that is a bit different is that if you are using a spreadsheet as a data source, you will need to register it as a data source first. It is covered in the mail merge chapter.
