Can I run LibreOffice Calc without a sort arrow on one of my columns?

I have a spreadsheet that I’m working on every day. I once made the mistake of sorting it on a narrow column. After that, I couldn’t see the column heading because the column had a sort arrow installed into it. Using other columns as sort keys didn’t change that. So I finally copied the column’s contents into a new column and deleted the original. Now there’s a sort arrow on the next column over. It’s wider, so the readability issue is gone. But am I allowed to sort a spreadsheet in LibreOffice Calc without permanently defacing it with these arrows? If so, how?

Welcome Joe! Didn’t you know that you can increase the column width as much as you like?

Click on the cell with the sort arrow, and choose menu Data - AutoFilter.

Tested with LibreOffice 7.0.6.2 (x86); OS: Windows 6.1.
