I am writing about some of the elements using the formula editor in writer, but when I try to write “Ni” the editor will not accept that. I just get a question mark. As I really should write about nickel it is quite annoying. Can you help me?
Don’t know what Formula editor are you using? Are you using Insert | Object | Formula or Table | Formula? First one is to insert mathematical formulas as symbols, second is for adding LibreOffice Calc like formulas in Writer.
I guess you are using the first one… You can double quote any text that should appear like text, so: “Ni”
I suggest to download LibreOffice Math guide from: https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/documentation/ at the end of the document there is reference pages with examples. Very nice reference to start with.
If this does not solve your problem, then please provide more info.
- What is your LibreOffice version?
- What is your operating system name and version
- Exact step by step instructions what are you doing at the moment in LibreOffice
- Detailed info about what are you trying to accomplish.
Thanks!
The quote solved it!
