Cannot preview .docx files in Windows File Explorer?

Using LibreOffice 7.2.0.4 (x64), I cannot preview any docx documents in Windows File Explorer. Steps to reproduce:

• Create and save a .docx file using Writer.
• Navigate to the file’s folder using File Explorer.
• Click on it while the preview pane (alt+p) is enabled.
• The preview pane will say “No preview available.”

It also does this with .odt files. I do not have Microsoft Office installed.

The feature you refer to is not implemented in LO for any version of ODF (or other files), including ODF 1.0/1.1. Specifically, the article at AOO Bugzilla you pointed to, talks about ability to navigate through documents in Explorer preview pane, as opposed to viewing thumbnail preview of first page saved inside the document.
