Cannot switch between light and dark mode (fedora cinnamon)

Hello,

I open Writer and it defaults to dark mode which is my system’s current theme. I go to tools → Options → View → Appearance → Mode, and I change it to “Light”. I click Apply or OK, nothing changes.

I’ve tried:

  • Reinstalling LibreOffice (base)
  • Removing the config “User” directory (both at ~ and the flatpak one)
  • Restarting Writer in safe mode and changing the setting

System information:

  • LibreOffice version 7.6.4.1
  • OS: Fedora Linux 39, Cinnamon 6.0.4

Any advice or suggestion would be appreciated.

base is the database component, so this wil not change the UI.

Maybe you will need to set a theme directly, but I’m not using Fedora or Cinnamon
