Okay,
I’m in LibreOffice Calc. and for the life of me I can NOT get the (Large amount of Very Detailed) Text inside the cell to, “wrap” I think it’s called? Every time I try to edit it in any area, when I press the Enter Key the cursor jumps to another cell, or even another part of the document entirely.
I have changed the “actions” I think it is, of the ENTER Key, to no avail; I have tried editing the Text in the “Formula” box; I just don’t know and can’t find this question anywhere.
yes I am new to this whole program/software, and have never dealt with a program like this before; if there’s a beginner’s book somewhere it MIGHT help, but from my experience those never helped me either, since they were unable to answer the simple problems I had.
Thank you to anyone who might stumble upon this and have an idea, answer; or even further questions for me.
As for the time being, what the little A.I. on the site has popped up for me, it looks like there’s no cure for this and the only option is to NOT use LibreCalc. I’m wondering if I should use some other program to try and deal with my rather annoyingly extensive calculations. UGH!
To wrap text, click in the cell then click Format > Cells > Alignment and tick the box Wrap text automatically
Alternatively, open the Sidebar and click the top icon at the right with tooltip Properties (Alt+1). Under Alignment, tick the box Wrap text
If you want to enter a line break between lines of text, place the cursor in the position where you want the line break and press Ctrl+Enter
As you are not familiar with spreadsheets, I suggest you start with the Getting Started Guide and use the Calc Guide as reference. Both can be downloaded from English documentation | LibreOffice Documentation - LibreOffice User Guides
There is no AI on this site, but don’t be too harsh on AI, it is still an infant.
