Can't paste to Thunderbird

Problem:

Using LibreOffice 4.2.1.1 + Help Pack (English (United States)), I can’t paste from either a document in Writer or from a range in Calc to the body of an email being composed in Thunderbird 24.3.0. I can do a paste unformatted, but not a paste (to preserve formatting).

Attempted Fix:

I tried a clean uninstall of the Help Pack & Program, deleting the LibreOffice folder in C:\Users\Mark12547\AppData\Roaming, I rebooted the PC, then installed 4.2.1.1 & Help Pack again, and problem persists.

Downgrade:

I tried a clean uninstall of the Help Pack & Program, deleting the LibreOffice folder in C:\Users\Mark12547\AppData\Roaming, a boot, then installing 4.1.4.2 & Help Pack, and I can copy and it preserves the formatting, but that means I am not up to date and get a warning that a newer version is available.

Current Status:

Until the problem with copy from 4.2.1.1 and paste to Thunderbird is fixed, I’ll have to remain on 4.1.4.2 or find a decent work around (and paste unformatted in Thunderbird is more trouble than it’s worth, especially when copying table data from Calc).

System Info:

Operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit, language is English United States.

Antivirus is Avast! Internet Security 2014.9.0.2013,

This appears to be bug 75184. I added my comments since they indicated an additional application that writer/calc cannot paste to.

If you look into bug tracker little bit more in deep there are several bugs reported as duplicate of the bug you wrote so: https://www.libreoffice.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=74381 or https://www.libreoffice.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=74584 - in the latest it is written that this bug was already fixed and it will be released in 4.2.2. According to release plan this will happen in one week period: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan - I suggest to install 4.2.2 when available.

You can also download daily build of 4.2.x series (but currently daily build is at 4.2.3 - so little bit more then 4.2.2) if you like to test this out: http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/libreoffice-4-2/Win-x86@42/current/ - download “msi” file without “sdk” in the name.

According to your description it looks like a bug to me. Please report a bug to bug tracker: https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug/
