I have two narrow columns with established margins. I want to make both columns wider.
It could be indent before and/or after text (see in menu Format - Paragraph… - Indents & Spacing tab.

Very likely you will only have to change the margins on your page, and the columns will adjust accordingly.
In that case, choose [Format] [Page Style] [Page] There you will be able to set the page margins. If you want wider columns, you will need to specify narrower margins. While you’re there, check to see that the Paper Format (letter, A4, etc) is specified correctly. Choose [Apply].
If, for some reason, this does not solve the problem, it is likely that your columns have a specified width and are not set to “Auto width.” To fix that, click on [Columns] at the top of the Page Style popup and either check “Auto width” to fill the space between margins, or set the width of the columns manually.
