Changing document view from list to thumbnails

I have been using Libre Office in Windows and now have computer dedicated to Linux Mint. In windows documents are shown as thumbnails, but are shown as list view in Mint. Can I change this to thumbnail view?

Are you talking about the view of files in a file manager (as opposed to LibreOffice’s own recent document list)? Or maybe in File Open dialog? Or … ? Maybe attach a screenshot to clarify.

This shows my files when I open office. Windows version show a thumbnail of each document. I wanted the thumbnail view. It flashed once while opening a document but never could get that view again.

that’s the Start Center,
not the Open dialog.

you have the same on Linux if you just run soffice.

I got it, thank you.
I have been opening from the left side of mint’s start menu which only lets me choose one of the office applications writer, calc, etc.
