This is driving me nuts. Without warning, LibreWriter starting acting oddly with tables today. I have a number of tables in a document. When I change the text alignment in one cell, all unstyled cells in all the tables are changed to the same text alignment. My document uses a minimum of paragraph styles, one of which is for table column headings; those are unaffected by cell realignment.
My tables contain a mix of text and captioned figures anchored “As character” in table cells.
I’ve never encountered this problem before. This happens on both computers where I habe LibreOffice installed.
Has anyone experienced this issue?
Both computers are running LibreOffice v7.2.6.2 on Windows 10 64-bit.
Upload a minimal sample document.
The AutoUpdate box may be checked in Organizer
tab of the paragraph style for your cells.
As a general rule, avoid as much as you can direct formatting like you did. In addition, never tick AutoUpdate box in styles. This was offered to “ease” conversion from Word but causes more harm than solving problems. Design a correct set of styles for your document. Don’t try to minimise their number. Remember that styles are some kind of semantic markup of your text. Paragraphs and words have a certain value for you, the author. Convey this value through styles (paragraph, style, page mainly). It does not make sense to create ambiguities or conflicts only to spare one style.
That did it. I didn’t think of looking there. Thanks.
I don’t know how Auto Update got turned on. I started with a new blank document so I’ll have to check the default template.
