Yesterday I discovered that the character highlighting color button no longer works in Writer. I’m using Ubuntu 22.04. The function works in the drop down menu, but the toolbar button grays out immediately after opening a document. I haven’t changed my settings. It works if I start in safe mode, but not in regular.
So, clear your user profile.
