Clear Protect from all cells in sheet

When I ask this question I get Tools > Protect turn off OK but I want something slightly different.

How can I find what cells will be protected on a sheet.

I have a sheet that has evolved and maybe more cells than I think are protected. So before turning on sheet protection can I clear protection from all cells then reprotect only those cells I now need to protect.

When I protect I only check Select protected cells. Some must be protected earlier because I cannot edit them now.

Any advice please

Cells are attributed to be protected by default if sheet protection is on. Select all cells (Ctrl+A) or the cell range you want to unprotect, then Format → Cells… (Ctrl+1), tab Cell Protection, Protection, uncheck Protection, OK. Then select the cells you want to protect and repeat with enabling Protection.

Thank you

It is sort of working.in that now I can only put the cursor on protected cells when sheet protected. Of course I do get the warning messsage.

When unprotected only those I want protected show grey bachgroud.

Why is cursor disabled in unprotected cells

Sorry
