In LO writer I would like to combine two characters a Greek omega and a dot which should result as a dot above the omega.
Any suggestion.
Thanx.
This is done with combining diacritics (Unicode block U+0300-U+036F). One of these is COMBINING DOT ABOVE U+0307.
Typing sequence in LO is character firs (omega)t, followed by diacritics. This is the opposite of common keyboard sequence.
Since this diacritics is not commonly present on keyboard, type:
U+3c9 Alt+X U+307 Alt+X
or
:omega: U+307 Alt+X
Note: the group …+… means you must press the keys simultaneously. Don’t enter the plus sign (while it must be typed in U+…).
But I find the result not satisfactory because the dot is not centred (offset to the right). It may be caused by a bad choice of font. Experiment.
PS: when asking here, always mention OS name, exact LO version and save format.
Thank you.
At first, I use Linux opensuse Leap 16.0, LO 25.8, native LO save format.
It is quite a challenge to center both the omega and the dot. Another challenge is to put two dots above omega. In fact, one and two dots above any charatcer is needed in writing down time derivatives.
Regards.

- An example file containing a small cropped screenshot to show what you see might help.
- Issues like this one may depend on the used font. Please post useful information.
“I have still a problem.” is of little value. - You may find few people here with experience using Greek letters with specific diacritics.
Depending on where you live you may find an academic institution where respective expertise exists.
Insert the combined character as a formula object, “dot %omega”, and anchor it “as character”.
