Conditional Format on Named Range

I named the range a1:a2 on a new and empty sheet to “JEFF” (no quotes) - this is the range I want to conditionally format. Then I opened Format > Conditional > Manage… > Add and entered “JEFF” (no quotes) into the Range: box at the bottom. The Range: box immediately turned Red (apparently indicating an invalid entry). If, instead of “JEFF”, I enter a1:a2 it is accepted. Does this mean that calc does not support conditional formatting of named ranges? Thank you…

You could put it as an enhancement request/bug, see How to Report Bugs in LibreOffice - The Document Foundation Wiki

As a workaround, use the Name Box to select the range, then choose menu Format - Conditional.
