I am presented with a pdf document that contains a large table that I use.
I would like to convert the pdf, or at least the table, to Calc. Is there a way to do this?

Normally you can open a PDF with Draw. Give it a try. Maybe you can extract the table. I did not test it. Please give feedback afterwards.
@Hrbrgr - this won’t work, since importing a pdf created from a calc table (spreadsheet) will import each cell as a separate / single text field in Draw. IMO the answer to OPs question Is there a way to do this? simply is: No

You can use Tabula
