If I select a couple of rows or partial rows in sheet1 how do i copy that and paste it into sheet2?
I’m totally baffled as to why Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V don’t work.
Normally ctrl+c and ctrl+v do work, under Windows or Linux. Have you tried using right-click>Copy then right-click>Paste? Notice that it is not ctrl+shift+c, which, technically, is what you indicate with Ctrl-C. That’s usually just used to copy and paste in a terminal session.
You might just restart your system and check again.
Are you aware that Calc supports relative sheet referenes?
I am yes. But what i am doing is creating a new sheet for 2022 and i can make it easily by copying sheet 2021 and then just modifying a few things on sheet 2022.
Usually this works, but I suggest to check first, if copy/paste works. So select the commands from the context-menu (right mous key).
If this works next step is to get keys to do the same.
If this didn’t work, check if some clipbord handler may interfere. There are new options in Win10 also. So maybe try to paste in a text-editor, to see what is actually copied.
In Leap 15.3 it works, but not in TW.
Shouldn’t it be enough to just restart LO?
My system has been up 23 days, not a long time, but its a pain to reboot because i have a lot of stuff that it affects and stuff to be restarted
The OS has a lot to do with the system clipboard, so if restarting LO doesn’t help then restarting the OS might. In fact, cut/paste probably are not even assigned to ctrl+c/v in LO itself but instead trigger OS functions. And having an issue with a rolling release like TW points all-the-more in that direction.
Other ideas: Are you able to paste within the same sheet? Can you right-click and paste via the context menu? Have you checked the Tools>Customize>Keyboard to confirm the ctrl+c/v are not assigned?
Do Ctrl+Insert (Copy) and Shift+Insert (Paste) work instead?
ok, so right click copy/paste work in same sheet, but not from sheet 1 to sheet 2
Ctrl-Ins and Shift-ins do work across sheets.
Then i tried in the reverse direction and Right click copy from sheet 2 to right click paste on sheet 1 and it worked. Huh…that’s weird
ok, go back to sheet 1 and right click copy, go to sheet 2 and right click paste, and low and behold it now works when 15 seconds ago it did not
Go figure eh? must a not held my mouth just right.
