Copying ordered list from one cell to another in a table

I have recipe cards that I put in a table. Each cell has the title, then in a cell within that cell, the ingredients. Finally, in the original cell, the instructions (which are in an ordered list). Like this:
TITLE:
Ingredient1
Ingredient2
Instructions

  1. do this
  2. do that

Next card is the same.

In order to keep all the same formatting more easily, I created a ‘template’ that I can just copy and change the appropriate parts. But when I copy it, the ordered list does not start at 1. It continues from the previous list. In the ‘Bullets and Numbering’ window, I do have it set to ‘Start at 1’, but it doesn’t do it.

Can someone advise?

This is regular behaviour.

Upload a sample file for checking this. (Please no screenshot.)

Place the cursor in the first entry of the second sequence and choose List > Restart Numbering from the context menu.

A list is defined by a list style. Since you use Format>Bullets & Numbering, you apply the anonymous default implicit list style. Consequently, all your items belong in the same abstract list.

It is however possible to restart numbering at any item. For this, put the cursor in the new “first” item and Format>Lists>Restart Numbering.

If you do this on the first item in your “template” part of the document, the restart flag will be copied along.
