Copying text formating when equating cells in LibreOffice Calc

I noticed in LibreOffice Calc, if I enter into a cell (A1 for instance) a bit of text with a superscript or subscript component to it say ‘text+2nd’ with the +2nd meaning “2nd” is in superscript, then in cell (A2 for instance) enter =A1 what shows up in A2 is text2nd with the “2nd” in regular script. The equating of cell A2 to cell A1 drops the superscript formatting of the text in cell A1.

I need to do this with equating cells rather than copy and pasting, so that when I change the text in cell A1 the change propagates into cell A2 and beyond.
So, my question is, is there a way to specify to LibreOffice Calc to copy the text formating in cell A1 as well as the specific text there?

Welcome @syber!
You cannot maintain these subscripts and superscripts when using formulas. You must directly use the Unicode characters as @LeroyG explained here:

Cool, thanks.
