Can someone confirm if this is the right way to deal with language and spell checking when adding a new dictionary to LibreOffice? AND/OR point me to the FAQ that describes this process so that I can bookmark the page.
Add dictionary (norsk) using Tools → Language → More dictionaries online.
LibreOffice confirms that the dictionary is installed.
Restart LibreOffice Writer and create a new document. There is no way to select Norwegian as a language in the drop down at the bottom of the window. Only English Denmark and English UK are available.
In order to get Norwegian as option when creating a new document I go into Tools → Options → Language and Locales → General.
Change the default document language to Norwegian Bokmål.
Now when I create a new document Norwegian is given at the bottom of the window as the current language AND the two options that were there previously are still there.
Why will the Norwegian language only turn up as a document language option when I make it the default language for all documents?
Removing Norwegian bokmål as default document language makes the option disappear from the drop down at the bottom of the window.
Ideally, as I write documents primarily in English I would prefer to have English UK as default AND Norwegian bokmål as an option. Is there any way to achive this?
RPi 5 running debian trixie, LO 25.2.3.2, locale en_DK.UTF-8 UTF-8 default keyboard Dutch (US).
Note I have the same problem on other devices running debian or debian related OSs on different architectures and different variations of keyboard and locale.
