Can libre-calc directly pull data (populate a field or function variable) from api like excel. Using a url (like a websocket wss stream) for data source.
google & duckduck was not much help for docs or instructions. Looking for a more direct way, no need for python or intermediary scripting, to pull data into populate a specific cell.
Calc can pull data from other spreadsheets, text files, html tables and various types of SQL databases (built-in drivers, JDBC or ODBC).
Libreoffice should merge with gnumeric. Thanks researching now data import options in libre-calc. Hope two teams can merge and form a strong competitor to microsoft and goggle
You can use Gnumeric and Calc. Both support the Open Document Format for spreadsheets (*.ods).
