When I attempt to create a database I am unable to find a “finish” button. The page below to instruction to press “finish” is blank and ends at the bottom of the screen. There seems to be no way to scroll to a “finish” button. I can’t move forward om creating my database.
Could you add your version of LO as well as your OS (and desktop for linux)? Available screen resolution?
.
What type of database do you try to create? HSQLDB, Firebird ?
Thank you for your reply.
LO is 25.8.3.2
OS is windows 11
Resolution is 1366x768 as recommended
I don’t know what type of base I am creating. It is a flat base not relational.
Does that help?
Have not used this resolution for a long time.
I guess scaling or a better monitor would be the best options:
Both default database-options (HSQLDB and Firebird) are relational databases. If the reside inside the .odb, they are called embedded.
.
When connecting to dBase or .csv the folder with the files is addressed as “the database”. Individual files in the folder are the tables of this database.
.
You can even use a Calc or Excel-File as (read-only) database, where the sheets are tables of the data BV ase.
Thanks. I may try a different resolution. It still seems odd to me that I can move the screen horizontal but not vertically to get to the finishing button.
to get to its bottom.
When starting the dialog for creating a Base file move this dialog up to the top of the screen. The dialog has a height 635 px here so this might be the problem.
I googledbthis for your Win11: There is a Hotkey Alt+Space, then M (for Move). After that you can move (the current window) with cursor keys:
My old netbook with WinXP was scrolling automatically when the mouse pointer was near the bottom…
Thanks for all the suggestions. I’ll try again today and let you know of they work.
Thank you all. Alt space M worked. Problem solved! This has been an experience like before AOL and WWW. I never thought the Net could be like that again.
