croatian language letters

I have changed default language to Croatian. At first I got all 5 Croatian diacritic letters. When I opened LibreOffice Writer for the second time, although Croatian language has been set as the default one, I could not get mentioned 5 Croatian diacritic letters anymore. I want to keep Croatian language as default, but, what to do to enable those 5 diacritic letters for good?
I hope you understand my problem. Thank you in advance for your kind help.
Greetings from Croatia!

“I got Croatian diacritics”, what do you mean? From the keyboard? In which case it is an OS issue (you didn’t mention your OS and version). The second time, did you style your text the same? You could have used a different font which did not include the Croatian diacritics (prefer extensive Unicode fonts).

Waiting for more info.

OSS is Linux Mint, installed yesterday, and LibreOffice 5 included. So, just clicked Word Processor in LibreOffice, and got LibreOffice Writer open. Then I did these steps:tools>language>for all text>Croatian (Croatian is installed). I got German keyboard on my PC. I got Croatian diacritics (usingLiberation Serif fonts), but - just for one time. Next time I´ve lost it, and, even if Croatian language has been set as default, diacritic letters were lost.I think it is software setting problem.

Have you set Croation as the default for all documents? TOOL > OPTIONS > LANGUAGE SETTINGS > DEFAULT LANGUAGES FOR DOCUMENTS? I think the settings you have described is just for the document being edited.

I did so…everything that is possible (I even got whole LibreOffice set in Croatian, and it is in Croatian)) only the writing language for the document (even if it says it is in Cro.) still does not appear with Cro. diacritic letters, but with German (since the keyboard is originally in German). I say, I got fully Croatian only for the first time. Next time it disappeared (even if I have saved all settings).

Can you insert Croatian characters using the Insert Special Characters, they are in the Extended Latin A block? To check the characters are in the font you are using. Have you set the keyboard to Croatian? And have you set the Autocorrect option, if active to Croatian?

Tried everything possible, but - no result. I would be O.K. with it if the very first time was not successful. And then, no chance to get it again. Strange, isn’t it? Maybe someone put a spell on my poor laptop. No other idea what is going on. Anyway, thank you for your time.
