Cross-references to chapters in the annex get shortened

Hello there!

I’m putting together a document with several appendices (in LO V7.5.8.2). I am able to cross-reference figures and tables in the appendices with my preferred numbering scheme (e.g. figure C.5, table E.17) - but that doesn’t work with the subchapters, e.g. Annex C.2 is shortened to Annex C. I am also able to cross-reference to the whole subtitle (“Annex C.2: Additional Analysis on XYZ…”), which I don’t want to do.

Cross-referencing to subchapters in the main part (e.g. Chapter 6.2.3) works without shortening.

This used to work in the past. Does anybody have an idea what setting I need to change?

Edit #2:

I was able to figure it out: A while ago, I assigned the headings within the appendices to a different outline level in order to have separate tables of content for the main part and the appendices. I undid that, and that solved the problem.

As usual, mention OS name and save format. Attach a sample file so that we can see how you numbered your annexes. I assume you didn’t use Heading n for the annexes because your chapters are “numbered” while the annexes are “lettered”.
