Using latest version of LO Writer: 25.8.4.2
Ctrl-click doesn’t work in the table of contents when I open an existing docx.
I can get it to work by updating the table of contents.
I have tried turning off the ctrl requirement - no change.
Also doesn’t work in safe mode.
Writer can edit DOCX document with some limitations because this is not its native format. DOCX requires a conversion when read and yet another one when saved. This conversion is only approximative because founding principles are different in both formats.
When you force TOC refresh, the TOC is reconstructed according to Writer rules. It is not guaranteed to survive if you save afterwards as DOCX.
Attach a sample document for experimentation.
A general golden rule, valid with any application: always work in native format.
I reinstalled 24.2.5.2 and there is no problem with ctrl-click and the TOC.
Yes, something is broken with 25.8 and so on.
It works with 25.2. So, I don’t upgrade after 25.2.
25.2 - Create an .odt file with headings and table contents. CTRL+click goes to the heading. Save the file as .docx, close and open again, CTRL+click goes to the heading.
25.8 and later - works only with .odt file, doesn’t work with .docx file
Yes, we are aware of the golden rule. But sometimes we must work with MS file types, don’t we? This problem is not a very complicated and special one, and it was working well before.
