Ctrl is often increasing the zoom level in Write

Over the past few days, I have encountered a strange problem in Write (7.1.6.2 X64). Every time I press Ctrl, the zoom level of my document increases incrementally.

As I have to use the Windows Sticky Keys facility to use modifier keys, it is becoming very disruptive. The problem is intermittent. I am using 7.1.6.2 because 7.1.7 was causing screen rendering issues in Write.

Has anybody else encountered this Ctrl / zoom problem?

Many thanks,
Sarah

Is “Zoom in” assigned to any keyboard shortcut shown in the “Keys” box or is the “Keys” box blank?

Hi. Thanks for your reply. No, there was no keyboard shortcut assigned to “Zoom In”, but the problem had stopped after I rebooted my PC.

If it does start zooming in again, I shall check for a keyboard shortcut there.

Thanks again,
Sarah

Hello again. I am afraid the problem is back, and in full flow!

I again followed your instructions, but there was no keyboard shortcut assigned to Zoom In.

Could you tell me how I can assign one? I’m wondering whether assigning a shortcut would stop Write from zooming in when only Ctrl is pressed… The problem is also occurring with Sticky Keys turned off.

By default, the “zoom in” command is not assigned to any shortcut and keyboard shortcuts are not generated automagically. I just thought that you may have defined one and then forgot about it, say Ctrl+"+" for “zoom in”. If there would be some problem with your keyboard sending a “+” together with the Ctrl key, LibreOffice would zoom in.
If the problem comes up again, try another keyboard. Even if it happens to be a laptop, you could plug in some USB keyboard in order to see if it makes a difference.

Ctrl+Mouse-scroll-up is zoom-in, on Windows 10 so with Sticky keys on and last key touched is Ctrl then using the mouse-scroll-up will zoom in and Mouse-scroll-down will zoom out
