Cursor stuck in place in LibreOffice 7.5.4.2?

I’ve been having this weird issue since updating to 7.5 (and now I’m on the latest version 7.5.4.2) on my windows 10 notebook. Whenever I try to move the writing cursor it gets stuck in place: a second cursor appears and it follows the arrow keys i press (or mouse click) but the other one doesn’t disappear and remains stuck in his place. Does anyone else have a solution for this bug? It happens in calc, too.

Try and toggle Edit>Direct Cursor Mode.

I tried but sadly it didn’t work

How are you doing that? With the arrow keys?
Have you tried to change the zoom level, or to scroll the page, to force the screen to redraw?

It might be that your graphics card is struggling a bit, have you got the latest drivers for it?

Try changing the settings. Click Tools - Options - LibreOffice - View and tick the box Force Skia software rendering

It worked!! Thanks a lot!!
Does that mean my computer is getting too old? It’s got an integrated graphics card with the i7 8565u

No. It just means the card or the driver hasn’t got full support for Skia. I have same integrated graphics as you, Intel UHD 620, and I have to force software rendering or I get strange effects sometimes.

The graphics gets updated through Intel rather than the laptop manufacturer any more and that has increased stability.
