I have Microsoft Word 16.57 open with text. I copied a title and open LibreOffice 7.2.5.2 and pasted the content. Red boxes appear around the text, and I am not able to edit the text. Please advise?

By default it may paste it as an object rather then text…
Try this: Use ctrl+shift+v instead of ctrl+v, (or paste special instead of paste if you’re using the mouse) and when it asks, select unformatted text, then format it as you wish.
