When I cut and paste from a web site into Writer, the pasted text is huge ( say 60 point or bigger) and if I try to reduce it to say 6 point it does become smaller but not that small (maybe reduces to 26 point)
Don’t paste but use Paste special from context menu and paste as unformatted text. Then the text should follow the styles you set in your document for the place to paste.
If you pasted directly you may remove the direct formatting with Ctrl+M after marking the area.
There is no “law” how to create pages on the web, so there is no general way to copy/paste always correct including formatting.
If you need more help: Please give a precise example, what you copies from which site and upload the (not desired) result here. (Not your complete document, just the part with the copied text).
