Data is all mixed up when I sort

I have an LibreOffice spreadsheet of all Star Trek movies and TV series. I am not a Star Trek fan but I did it to past by time. The problem is, how do I properly sort so everything will be aligned properly? That means I don’t want Column C for example to end up with a different year from like Column E. I want everything to be aligned. How do I do this? I tried Data —> Sort but first it did not sort in ascending as I specified (I do not think so at least). And second, the data was all mixed up which is probably why I did not notice it would have been in ascending.

.

Here’s what the spreadsheet looks like

Column A is Series or Movie

Column B is Season #

Column C is Episode #

Column D is Title

Column E is Year of release

For Column A, if I listed a movie than in columns B, C, and D - I wrote N/A

Thanks!

Hello @baseball01,
Can you edit your question and add a reduced sample file to test with? If you can’t edit your question, add a comment (not an answer). Thanks.

I just uploaded it. Thanks!

The only two wrong dates that I see, are for:

  1. Season 1, Episode 15: 09/05/33 (33 is for 933, but must be 1933)
  2. Season 4, Episode 6: 10/08//97 (there is an extra /)

Main point: Ensure there is not only one column marked.
.
My method: place the cursor in the first column to sort, then select the whole sheet by clicking on the square between Column A and Row1, then select Data->Sort.
.
Check the dialogue. Our first column should be selected - of not do this yourself, then add columns B and C below.
.
There is a checkbox on headings in first row to avoid sprting the headings.
.
Now Sort, then check the result.
If it doesn’t fit, you can undo the sorting with Ctrl-Z

The sorting still looks off for some reason. I am attaching a copy that I have attempted to sort.

***93 for 1993, I made a typo and corrected it. It should be corrected now

I removed the “/” as well so now it should only be one “/” in the other date.

Thanks!

You defined a database range “_db” until row 121. The actual list reaches down until row 947.
