Date field in PDF

I am using libreoffice so I can send a document to parents of our students and although I can safe it as an editable .pdf the date field doesn’t work in the pdf document. I’m new to libreoffice so could really do with some help on doing this in writer.

I did but when I export it to .pdf the date field doesn’t work

Did you have a look at “PDF settings”?

And please specify your operating system and LibreOffice version. Thank you.

We use Acrobat Reader DC for opening files and the version of LibreOffice is 7.2 … PDF settings in libreoffice or acrobat reader??
