Default export to pdf file save location

Where is the setting for default saveas file location when exporting directly to PDF? I want the default location to always be in the same folder as its parent .odt file. I don’t recall ever setting this (it’s always been my default) but while troubleshooting and creating new profiles, it seems to default to the last used file location regardless of the .odt file’s location. Is this a LibreOffice setting in Tools (if so, I cannot find it)?

Thank you.

No setting, this is an intended(?) change:

Edit: Behaviour will be reverted/fixed in version 24.8.7 and 25.2.3

Thank you. Clearly, (from that bug report) it’s not intended, and I hope they fix it soon. I’m another who’s used LO for years with the saveas functionality remaining consistent (save side-by-side with the .odt) until just recently. In my case I think it was the 25.2.2.2 update. I appreciate the quick response. Thanks again.

I am having the same trouble! Just in the last few days. I’m on 25.2.2.2 too.

Also same problem on Save As:
Instead of saving where the original document is (which is what I require), it goes where I last saved. UGH! Please fix this, or show me where to change it. It’s killing me! (sorry for the hysterics, but this feature is something I depend on regularly).

Thanks, @mariosv.
I just finished reading that fascinating bug report.

This behavior may have been intended. I’m so glad they are FIXING (as I understand it) this godawful intended behavior. YAY!
I’ll wait and suffer until next release with fix, hopefully it will be sooooon.

You could start reading. The release plan is also linked in the tread linked above…

Thanks for that link, @Wanderer.
I honestly didn’t understand the release plan posted on the bug link. There are so many patches committed and so many different release versions mentioned. Something I do not have time to study, which is why I decided to just hold on and be patient, since a fix is in the works.
Have a good weekend, all.
