How do I delete the entire file from word?
Where do you saved the files?
You are asking about deleting a file from a Microsoft-brand application.
For Microsoft Office and other software from that company, consult Microsoft services. This place targets LibreOffice, which is a different product.
As a general observation, you usually keep a file in storage, not in the app. Many apps will keep a list of recent files, but this list is independent from actual storage. (If you delete the file from storage, the app will still “remember” opening it. Just like if you throw a book in the fireplace, you may still remember which spot on the bookshelf it used to occupy.)
So, …
- Do you want to delete the file from storage? (Burn the book?)
See @Astur’s answer. - Do you need to delete the entry from the app’s “recollection”?
(Ingesting psychoactive substances until you forget that you ever owned the book?)
Go to the “recent files” list and see whether you can right click to remove single entries or pick an option somewhere to clear the entire list.
This is using Libre. It works the same as Word. How do I delete the file from the list of files listed.
If I start a file and name it “list Of Songs.” If I no longer want this list, how do I delete it in its entirety?
This is a function of your (unknown) operating system, not LibreOffice. See File Management to learn a little about your computer and how to manage files in it.

This is not a solution.
When you add detail to your question, do it in the question (edit the question posting, or add a comment). The “Add your answer” is reserved for suggested solutions. When the asker (you in this case)posts an answer, some helpers will see that at a glance, conclude that “he got it sorted”, and move on. Less likely to arrive at a solution that way. -
LibreOffice Writer does not work exactly the same as Word.
This may be relevant, depending on which “list” you want to modify -
Your question has received multiple suggestions for solutions. Did you try them? Why do they fail?
Unable to follow directions (did not understand, or did not fit your situation), got error message (what message), or something else?
To remove a document from the Recent documents list, close all LibreOffice programs.
Open the link to LibreOffice (not Writer, Calc, etc) from your start menu / shortcut. The Start Centre window will open. Click on Recent documents and a selection of thumbnails will be seen in the main pane. Hover over any thumbnail to show a cross; click on the cross to remove the file from Recent documents.
The file is not deleted from the computer however and can be reopened in the future from LibreOffice or by double-clicking in a file manager.
